Bath Remodeling Costs

SO WHAT DOES KITCHEN, BATH & FLOORS USA DO?

We have the expertise and experience necessary to undertake all kinds of renovations - from residential additions and decks to kitchen, living room, and bedroom remodeling projects! But we particularly thrive on bathroom renovations, and we have accumulated substantial experience and skill in remodeling bathrooms of various types, sizes, and complexities.

Has your bathroom acquired annoying characteristics - leaky taps, flaking paint, and yellowing tile? Are you tired of the old and decrepitating look? Do you dream of a fantastic bathroom makeover on the level of something you've seen in a high-end architectural or interior design magazine? Our job is to make that very dream come true! With numerous awards and immensely satisfied clients standing behind us, we will do everything possible to make your bathroom remodeling or expansion project a smashing (and affordable!) success! Some of the bathroom remodeling services we offer include (but are not limited to):

REMODELING STANDARD BATHROOMS: Standard bathrooms have an integrated shower and tub.

REMODELING MASTER BATHROOMS: Master bathrooms have separate showers and tubs and tend to be larger than standard bathrooms.

BATHROOM ADDITIONS: We can convert an existing room into a bathroom or we can build one onto the side of your house!

TUB, SHOWER, TOILET, AND VANITY REPLACEMENTS: If you're already satisfied with your bathroom but you want new fixtures, we can do that too!

TUB-TO-SHOWER CONVERSIONS: Would you rather have a shower than a bathtub? We'll do that too!

Do you have another kind of bathroom project in mind that's not on this list? Just ask us - chances are we can do it!

Below are some sample bathroom remodeling projects with their associated costs per square foot. Please keep in mind that these cost estimates can vary greatly from project to project depending on the bathroom size, configuration, finishes, fixtures, structural work, and the many other variables discussed above. However, we hope that these examples and cost estimates will help you plan a realistic budget for your bathroom remodeling project; furthermore feel free to contact us if you have questions about unique scenarios, finishes, and other remodeling ideas. We are always happy to help - our job is to make your dream renovation project come true!

INITIAL CONSULTATION

Kitchen,Bath&Floors, offers free initial in-house design consultation if you own or have a contract on the property you wish to remodel. If you are in the process of buying the property in question, our fee for the initial consultation is a minimum of $250.

SCENARIO 1: STANDARD BATHROOM REMODEL

This scenario illustrates the process of remodeling an existing 5'x7' bathroom. In addition to the steps described in the "Our Bathroom Remodeling Process" section above, we would replace all the existing fixtures with a new 30"x60" bathtub with a ceramic tile surround and a single-lever temperature and pressure-balanced shower control, a standard white toilet, a solid-surface vanity countertop with an integrated sink, a recessed medicine cabinet with a light, and a ceramic tile floor and painted walls.

The price for such a project does not include the cost of finish materials and would approximately be: $250 - $350 per square foot or $8,750 to $12,250.

SCENARIO 2: MASTER BATHROOM REMODEL

This scenario illustrates the renovation of a 100-square-foot master bathroom. In addition to the steps described in the Kitchen,Bath&FloorsUSA'S Remodeling Process section above, we would relocate some of the plumbing fixtures and install a custom shower with ceramic tile walls with accent strips, a recessed shower caddy, body spray fixtures, and a frameless glass enclosure. We would also install a custom whirlpool tub, a vanity with a stone countertop and two integrated sinks, two mirrored medicine cabinets with lighting, an enclosed bidet dual-flush toilet, and a humidistat-controlled exhaust fan. We we also install large matching ceramic tiles on the floor laid out in a diamond pattern, wood or ceramic molding along the perimeter of the floor, general and spot lighting in the ceiling (including a waterproof light inside the shower), and customized cabinetry built into the walls. Finally, we would install or improve the HVAC system and include a radiant-heated floor and heated towel racks.

The price for such a project does not include the cost of finish materials and would approximately be: $275 - $400 per square foot or $27,500 to $40,000.

SCENARIO 3: BATHROOM ADDITION

This scenario illustrates the addition of a new 5'x8' bathroom onto the side of an existing house over a crawlspace. We would demolish a portion of the house's 5x8 Bathroomexterior wall where the new bathroom would connect to the existing house and we then would construct framing for the walls, floor, and roof/ceiling and mount the structure on concrete footings. We would add sheathing and drywall on the walls, floor, and ceiling and install plumbing, drainage, and electricity lines in the manner described in the "Our Bathroom Remodeling Process" section above. We would also install the door and any windows. Once the structure and walls have been finished, we would proceed to install a tub/shower combination, a vanity, a toilet, a tiled floor and walls, lights, and miscellaneous bathroom accessories, in addition to painting the walls and ceiling.

The price for such a project does not include the cost of finish materials and would approximately be: $450 - $575 per square foot or $18,000 to $23,000.

SCENARIO 4: TUB, TOILET, AND VANITY REPLACEMENT

This scenario illustrates the replacement of an existing tub, toilet, and vanity with new fixtures. We would begin by tearing out the existing fixtures and stripping their surroundings down to the bare studs if necessary (if there is evidence of water damage, etc). We would then install a new tub with a custom shower door, a new toilet, and a new vanity with a surround and a matching countertop. We would install new tiles in the tub/shower enclosure and replace any tiles that were removed on the surrounding walls.

The price for such a project does not include the cost of finish materials and would approximately be: $6,500 and up.

SCENARIO 5: CONVERSION OF A TUB INTO A WALK-IN SHOWER

This scenario illustrates the replacement of an existing tub with a new walk-in shower. We would remove the existing tub and strip its enclosure down to the bare studs. We'd then relocate the shower drain to the center and change the waste line to 2" if necessary. We'd finish the surround with moisture and mold resistant drywall and finish the new shower floor and wall enclosure with ceramic tile or stone tile. Finally, we'd install a glass shower door and any miscellaneous shower fixtures (nozzles, faucets, knobs, shelves, grab bars, etc.)

The price for such a project does not include the cost of finish materials and would approximately be: $8,500 and up.
