After all the intricate, behind-the-scenes work is completed, the finishes can be installed. In this stage, cabinets, countertops, flooring, appliances, and fixtures are put into place. Installation looks easier than it actually is. For example, countertops need to be made level so nothing will roll off and this isn't possible if the base cabinets are not installed correctly. In this stage, many aspects of your kitchen are dependent on a quality performance in previous stages.
Cabinetry installation — Estimated time: 2-4 days
Buying ready to assemble cabinets requires additional effort and time to piece together the cabinets. This can be a cost-reducing option, but with RTA, you'll sacrifice professional construction and the convenience of fully-assembled cabinets.
Countertop Installation — Estimated time: 1-2 days
Countertops require a template to be made. To save time, determine the template during the kitchen's design so the countertop can be delivered prior to when it is needed for installation. With proper planning, the homeowner will not have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for countertop fabrication.
Flooring installation — Estimated time: 2 days
Flooring should be installed and immediately covered to prevent scratching and other damages during the completion of the project.
Appliances, sink, and faucet installation — Estimated time: 1-2 days
After everything is put in place, an electrician and plumber will need to be scheduled to finish all hook-ups.
Backsplash — Estimated time: 1-2 days
A backsplash can be installed somewhat concurrently with other installations.
Finishing touches — Estimated time: 2-3 days
Touch-up painting, decorating, and accessory installation, like lighting and hardware, are done at the very end.
Unpacking — Estimated time: 1 week
Congratulations on finishing your kitchen model. Now is the time to lean back and enjoy the outcome of all your hard work.
